RESUMEN

Any organization needs to approach environmental management in a way that sustains integrated development. Part of the approach is developing alternatives, which permit competitive advantages stemming from improvements in product design and processes. Further, truly innovative enterprises comply with environmental regulation while seeking to diminish the social costs related to environmental issues. The study proposes four results related to environmental management of the Cuban oil distribution system:

  1. The Fuel Freight Village model assures the compatibility of the integrated management of the petroleum production, refining and distribution with environmental management.

  2. The development of the Freight Village provides an effective way to integrate environmental concerns with the supply chain.
  3. The eco-efficiency indicators are the most generalized way to measure the environmental performance of the Fuel Freight Village.

  4. The application of The Freight Village results in a reduction of the environmental load through more rational use the energy, waste and water (by cubic meters of solid fuels).
